Welcome, It's so nice to meet you!!
I love making new friends, and I'm so glad you came by!
I thought I would start by sharing a little about myself, and then I would like to get to know you a little better.
Spending almost 3 decades in grumpy skin creates a special kind of drive – one that after failing to find a sufficient “natural” soap is willing to throw conventional soap-making wisdom out the window and start with science.
That drive compelled me to build soap "backwards" after studying the skin for 2 years. By God’s grace, I had a soap that sufficiently cleansed my skin.
It's true - I said I'd never make soap. I had no idea that God had greater plans and He was just getting started.
Running Hyssop Tree has taken me to a variety places – many of which I never saw myself visiting.
I never imagined that I would find myself taking soaps to Millionaire’s Row of the prestigious Churchill Downs. I also never imagined the joy, hope and blessing that I would find in the corners of a local shelter.
Each donation is so carefully prayed over that I could never express, imagine or even comprehend how all the details come together. It’s an experience beyond words to watch God orchestrate the unseen details.
When things get tough, I read all the comments that my customers (my Hyssop Tree family) have sent me. It touches my heart so deeply to know that I've been able to be a part of so many people's lives.
I also read the mission page. I love reflecting on the donations - each one is unique and incredibly special.
I have a deep gratitude to be able to do what I do, and I'm thankful for every one of my customers.
I couldn't run Hyssop Tree without my incredible army of support.
My husband of over a decade is my greatest enabler. He believes in me, supports me, and has my back, even when I don't make sense. Ziggy (my rescued goldendoodle) was my canine partner in crisis response (he’s retired now). He’s the smoothest “heart thief” you’ll ever meet, and he’s faithful as the day is long.
My biggest secret weapon is Jesus - He fills me when I am empty, He suffices my insufficiency and He fills my cup when it's empty. I'm so thankful for grace, without which I would not be here.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as your reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians 3:23-24 (NIV)
Yes, you! Hyssop Tree exists because you play a very important part. Without your support, there would be no mission. I'd love to connect deeper with you.
I send a newsletter once or twice a month with encouraging ways to live well and to love others, and it would be an honor to write to you - just sign up below with your first name and e-mail address.
If you'd like to dig a little deeper, the Hyssop Tree blog is a great place to find new ideas and encouraging information.
