Do you ever have those nights when you toss and turn because you know the morning is bringing you something exciting? What was that exciting thing, you might ask...
It was the day I took soaps to the Hildegard House.
I had been in contact with their Executive Director, Karen Cassidy, for some time. I had been telling her about our soaps and learning about the residents at Hildegard House. Their volunteers care for residents in their last 3 months of life when they have no family or home. I was so touched by their mission from the time I heard about them.
When I arrived, it was a cold, wet fall morning. One of their volunteers answered the door... you could feel the warmth and care exuding from the walls. It felt familiar and cozy - it felt like home.
I met with Karen, and she was such a delight! She took me on a tour of Hildegard House. It was more than I could have imagined it to be. The care, attention to detail, and effort they have put in is remarkable.
After delivering the soaps, one of the volunteers said to me, "you know, giving people are the happiest people!"
Isn't that so true - it can be so satisfying to help someone. And that's what it's all about at the end of the day. I'm honored that you have been a part of sharing with the residents of the Hildegard House.
Just a few days ago, I received this in the mail. Thank you for being a part of someone's journey on this earth. Together we are making a difference!
When you buy a soap, someone in crisis gets a soap. Shop our soaps and change a life today!
